Can you believe it’s already Christmas?
Wait, what? It’s not Christmas? Oh. Well, either way, it’ll be upon us shortly. Before we even realize last year’s Christmas is already over… It is, right? I mean, it feels like it was yesterday.
Gah.
It’s funny how time seems to move so slowly when we are kids, and then it speeds up like crazy when you become an adult. You know, there might be an interesting story to tell here. I’ll have to think about that one for a bit.
In other news, I recently joined a brand new social network called Mastodon. It’s an interesting one, as it’s open source and decentralized, which means no corporate greed controlling it, no advertising, etc. I’m curious to see how it evolves.
If any of you are on there, feel free to check out my profile and give me a shout… Or if you’re not on there yet, take a look and see how you like it ;) Let me know your thoughts in the comments below.
Coming up this month
I have two stories scheduled for this month—well, I suppose I should say one and a half, since these include the second half of my far-future spy story.
November 9: Beyond the Dark — a high fantasy story about the Gleaming (you’ve heard of this if you’ve read my Varushka stories or my debut novel) with dragons and sheep… Seriously!
November 16: To Mourn the Stars — Ash & Cinder, super-spies in a dying universe, investigate the mysterious Marietta while trying to neutralize a madman. If you’ve missed the first installment, you can read it here.
I’d like to publish something else after that, but I have no idea what at this point! I might just go with a new installment of my “Building a World” series. Been a while since I’ve posted one of those. We shall see.
Writing plans
Because of a family situation, I haven’t had as much time for writing in the past couple of months, so things have been going slowly. Right now I am trying to focus on finishing the second half of my serial, Through the Stars, Darkly.
Hopefully the aforementioned situation should be resolved soon.
There are several projects I am looking forward to writing: the three next novels in the Evernow Canticles (ie the sequels to “Everlife”) and a new, 6-book epic fantasy series I’ve been thinking about a lot in the past few days. Oh, and I also want to write a mystery novel!

Here is a selection of books that might be of interest to you. All of these are free to download, though you’ll have to sign up to the authors’ newsletter to grab your copy.

Are you getting much engagement on Mastodon? The website looks interesting but it seems like not many people use it.
