Greetings from the Xen’in Universe.

Yes. I know. I posted no story last month. But listen, here’s the thing… I was editing something I thought I wanted to share with you all… another old piece. But as I was going through it, it struck me that it had a major flaw in the final third. And I just didn’t have time to fix it—it would require extensive rewriting—much less to write something new. So I decided to do the unthinkable… and not post anything.

BUT!

I will make it up to you guys. You’ll get two stories… not this month, as my plate is still a bit full right now, but in either July or August.

That said, I do have some good news! The reason I didn’t have time to finish a short story to post here is because I was doing such good progress on the novel! In fact, I’m happy to report that… I… have… finally… completed Book 2 of the Dragon Dice trilogy I’m working on, yay!

The book is titled “The Malfus Necrosis,” and I actually just finished the editing today. I’ll mail it out to my publisher in the next 24 hours.

How many words did I write in May, you ask? Well… I pulled off 44,386 this time! So much better than the last few months. It’d been a while, in fact, since I’d done so well, so I’m pretty happy about it.

So what’s next?

Well, there’s still the third book to write, but I need to wait for the outline before I can start on it (my publisher provides the outlines for these). In the meantime, there are several short stories I want to write, both for you guys and for some submission calls I’d like to answer.

Then, if I have the time, I want to start working on a romantasy trilogy project. And if you’re thinking, wait, that’s not a genre you typically write, you’re not wrong. But hey, I have a cool idea, so I want to give it a shot. And since it’ll be quite different from what I usually do, it’ll be under a pen name.

Coming up this month

I’m hoping to build a buffer in the coming weeks, because right now I have nothing! So we’ll see what comes next. Possibly a Varushka, a Reikk, or a Silius.
