Greetings from the Xen’in Universe.
The good news is that I’ve (finally) made some progress on that novel I’m writing. With 16,753 words laid down in April, it’s a little bit better than the previous month, but still far from what I’d hoped.
In addition to the novel progress, I also completed two short stories which I will be shopping around.
I also did a lot of editing. God, I hate editing. But it’s a necessary evil in this business!
Speaking of last month, as I’m sure you noticed, I ended up posting an older piece, The Deafening of the Sky, which I wrote back in 2001. I originally planned to write a sort of prequel for that one, but that never happened.
Coming up this month
Ideally I’d like to write something new, but depending on my progress on the novel, I might have to turn to another old one I have sleeping on my hard drive. That’s all the buffer I have at the moment, unfortunately. I mean, I have 6 or 7 other stories, but those are currently waiting for a response in various magazine slush piles.
The joys of being a writer!
