Hello everyone,
I thought I’d send a quick note to let you all know I just released the book I mentioned in my previous email. It’s called To Worlds of Wonder and includes 15 Science-Fiction short stories, two of which are brand new (see below).
The cover is linked to the ebook version but you can get a print copy from there as well (just click on the ‘paperback’ link).
Here’s the list of titles you’ll find in this collection:
Down a Dark Road
Confessions of an Artificial Intelligence
For those of you who have already read one or more of these (and if you haven’t yet, by the way, you still can by clicking the links above) please consider rating and/or reviewing the book on Amazon and/or on Goodreads. Added reviews near the release date greatly help with the Amazon algorithm which in turn helps with visibility and thus can increase sales. So your contribution would be much appreciated ;) Naturally, Amazon reviews are more relevant for this, but Goodreads can help drive traffic to the book as well (feel free to copy-paste the same text though).
Note that you don’t need to buy the book to leave a rating or a review.
The two unlinked titles above are of course the new stories that I wrote specifically for this collection. I think they came out pretty well!
“Down a Dark Road” is about a man caught in what appears to be a nightmare, trying desperately to pull himself out. It’s another variant of the Groundhog Day premise, this time spun in a Science-Fiction context.
In “Confessions of an Artificial Intelligence” a bold AI confides his plans for humanity and shares a story from a distant past to illustrate his point. This one has several twists that make me snicker when I think about it!
On a different note, I’m not sure yet if I’ll have new fiction to post this month. With only one week left to go and Christmas right around the corner, it’ll be a tight one, but I’ll see what I can do! If I can’t pull it off though I’ll try to make it up to you with TWO stories in January haha!
Happy holidays everyone.
Recently published stories
Nothing new in this section this month, but here’s a list of the stories I published in 2024 outside of Substack:
“The Waystation” in Tome of Terrors (horror anthology)
“The Battle of Braxia” in Laser Cannons & First Contact (space opera anthology)
“Strength of the Gwich’in,” “The Scales of Death,” and “Under Siege” (as Steffen Larken) in Time of the Champions (epic fantasy anthology in the “Dragon Dice” game setting)
If you like my writing, please consider buying a copy of my novel, upgrading to a paid subscription, or making a Paypal or Ko-fi donation. As an independent author, any of these would help a lot!
