Another month just went flying by and here we are! But hey, there is some good news: the Kickstarter for “Anthologies of the Damned” launched on Monday. Not only that, but it reached its initial goal of $1000 within 20 hours! How cool is that? So now we’re aiming for the $1350 stretch goal which unlocks some bonus materials—namely ebook versions of novels written by some of the contributing authors.
If you haven’t done so yet, there’s still time to back this project… but don’t linger! It’s a short campaign with only 12 days left.
In other news, I finally decided to create an Author Page for myself on Facebook. It’s been a long time coming. I’ve been using FB for almost ten years but always resisted the impulse. Even more so after I created a Page for my Steffen Larken pen name. I’ve never been great with social media (as the Larken page will clearly show—let alone my twitter account) and feel like it’s more of a chore. Don’t get me wrong, I love chatting with readers (that’s never a chore), but drawing people in and coming up with new post ideas are my two stumbling blocks.
Still, I finally caved in when we were discussing our marketing plans for “Anthologies of the Damned.” I went ahead and created this page. I’ll try to do a better job with this, but I guess we’ll see how it goes.
And here’s some recent work I’ve published that is still available:
Laser Cannons & First Contact (space opera anthology) — with “The Battle of Braxia.”
Time of the Champions (epic fantasy anthology) — three short stories as Steffen Larken.
Coming up this month
I feel like I’ve been repeating myself a lot in this section these last few months, to the point where I’m wondering if I even should keep it in. Maybe I should remove this until I have built up a buffer again. So don’t be surprised if there is no “Coming up this month” in the next bulletin.
In the meantime, I’ll pretty much be winging it, writing stuff as the deadline approaches. I hate working this way, but real life has been complicated. In some ways this year was better than last year, but in others it was much worse. So I dunno.
Anyway, we’ll see what happens in the coming weeks.
If you like my writing, please consider buying a copy of my novel, upgrading to a paid subscription, or making a Paypal or Ko-fi donation. As an independent author, any of these would help a lot!

Hey, Alex--I just decided to blow the dust and mold off of my author Facebook page. For some reason it's getting visits. So...putting stuff back up on it.
