Not much news to report this month. What with having to move our stuff from a garage into a storage unit, selling the former and buying the latter, finding folks to help us with the move, and so on… Let’s just say it’s been a crazy (and stressful) few weeks.
But that’s all done now, so I can finally breathe a little and get back to work!
Though I did complete a 2000 words short story I submitted to Diabolical Plots *crossing fingers*.
It feels like I’ve been doing more editing this month than actual writing, and that makes me sad. Hopefully I can change this trend in August.
Coming up this month
I noticed I’ve been releasing a lot of Science-Fiction lately, so it’s time for some epic fantasy! Coming up is a 6-part mini-serial I first published on Royal Road for a community contest they ran there last month.
It’s called “What Paths Men Take” and is about a mysterious man leading a village chief into a strange and perilous journey where he will have to face dragons, trolls, ogres, and villainous elves. And while he struggles to survive, still he must solve the greatest riddle of all: who is the stranger? And is the stranger showing him all these things to help him or to destroy him?
I will be posting the first three chapters this month (once a week starting in two weeks) and the remaining three next month.
Here’s the schedule for August:
Aug 16: Chapter 1.
Aug 23: Chapter 2.
Aug 30: Chapter 3.
“Write 6 Books in a Year Challenge”
Update #7
At this stage, it would be a miracle if I somehow managed to complete 6 books before the end of the year. The more time passes, the less likely it seems. I’ve just fallen too far behind.
What with the move mentioned above, I’ve only added about 15,000 words to Everday, bringing it to a total of 35k out of a projected 120k.
Even if I complete it this month, that’d leave four months to write four books…
Technically not impossible, but considering how things have been going so far, and my mother’s continued health problems, I’m skeptical.
We shall see.
That’s all for now.
See you next month!
