Told ya Christmas would be upon us before we had time to say “ho ho ho”! Well, okay, you still have a few weeks to spare, but that’s not saying much.
Kidding aside, I have some pretty cool news. I got interviewed by The Authors Show recently. It’s a popular literary podcast that’s been running for 15 years. They air ten interviews per day, each with its own channel where it is played in a loop for 24 hours.
My interview is scheduled to air next Monday (December 12) on Channel 10. Here’s a direct link:

Note that clicking on the above link before the given date will just pop up a different interview every day, so if you don’t want to miss mine, bookmark the page and add it to your calendar ;)
Coming up this month
I will only be posting one story this month. It’s called “Serpent Feeds the Sun.” It’s a standalone fantasy piece featuring an Aztec god living among us in modern times.
I was inspired to write this after coming across a blog post that made me feel very uncomfortable, because the writer was obviously more concerned about what people would think of her on social media than about her own kids’ feelings. I mean, she didn’t say it, of course, but you could easily read it between the lines. And that just blew my mind.
I’ll probably post this story next week, if I can find some time to edit it.
Warning: it is not Christmas-y at all! If you crave something with more of a holiday spirit to it, I’d recommend reading this science-fiction short I wrote last year:
The Hiccup at the End of the World
Writing news
The family situation I mentioned previously should hopefully be resolved by the end of the month, so I should be able to start writing my next novel in January *crossing fingers*.
I just finished translating a Christmas novella into French, so I’ll have more time now to focus on my serial. I still should be able to write the remaining chapters before New Year’s Eve. At least, that’s my goal.
And with that, I’ll let you go back to your Christmas shopping…
Happy holidays, everyone!
