So it’s been a month since my book was released and there hasn’t been much movement yet. Not that I expected any, as I haven’t really done any marketing. I started reaching out to review blogs (no answers yet) and will be running a 99c promo for three days—starting today! So if you haven’t grabbed a copy yet, you might want to do it now. That’s only for the ebook version, of course.
The paperback is also now available, though only on Amazon. I’m working on getting it up on other retailers, but it’ll take a bit more time. The ebook, on the other hand, is available everywhere (though it’s worth noting that the promo will only be running on Amazon).
My initial idea was to run ads next year, once I have all the four planned books in the series released, but I’m now considering running some Amazon ads next week.
Anyway, if you want to grab a copy of my book, just click here (or on the cover below) and you’ll be directed to your favorite store.
If you read the book, please consider rating it and/or leaving a review, it would help a lot! You can do so on the website you order the book from and/or on any of the following platforms:
Goodreads: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/61999776-everlife
Bookbub: https://www.bookbub.com/books/everlife-the-evernow-canticles-1-by-alex-s-garcia
LibraryThing: https://www.librarything.com/work/28956542/225769128
If you know of any other site where the book should be listed, just let me know and I’ll see what I can do ;)
Coming up this month
I’m hoping to send out two stories this month, but no promises. I only have half of one done and things are a bit complicated at the moment, with little time for writing, so…
Ideally, if I can pull it off, the next one should be a new high fantasy adventure of the orphans Thimmin and Kelle (a follow-up to Salamandra Sun). The second would be the far-future spy story I mentioned last time, which I still haven’t completed!
But, depending on progress, I might end up sending something completely different…
So I guess time will tell.
Serial news
As most of you should know by now, I’ve been writing a weekly serial for my paid subscribers since the beginning of the year—with 36 chapters published so far (the first four chapters are free, if you want to try it out).
It’s been an interesting experience, but if it taught me anything it’s that I’m not made to write serials! I tend to be a fast writer, and so I usually move quickly between projects. Constantly having to go back to the same one is somewhat unnerving. So I’ve decided to finish writing the second half (there are 75 chapters planned) as if it were a novel, and then just keep serializing that.
I’ll use the same approach for future serials as well. I suspect it’ll make a less frustrating experience for me.
Substack reading app
By the way! I almost forgot to mention this… Did you know that there is now a Substack reading app you can install on your phone or on your tablet? An Apple version was released months ago, but the Android version just came out yesterday! Check it out, it’s pretty cool.
And that’s all for now.
